Vitamin D in the Winter

To get enough vitamin D from the sun, only 10–30 minutes of midday sunlight is needed, a couple days per week. People with darker skin need a bit more; conversely, people with pale skin need less. Walking from buildings, to your car, to buildings is all you need to produce adequate vitamin D. NO PROLONGED TANNING NEEDED! Also, a “base tan” is a misnomer.
