J Renee Organics owner and seasoned esthetician, Shelly Todd, has over a decade of beauty experience at her multiple facial studios; Revive Skin Services and J Renee Esthetics. Shelly has advanced education in multiple skincare modalities, skin diseases, ingredient toxicology, oncology (cancer) esthetics and has owned and been lead esthetician in many spas in Oregon, Georgia and North Carolina.

In Shelly’s search for the perfect products, she tried out many skin care lines and found them all wanting in some way. Shelly sufferes from a rare genetic disorder that causes reactions to many synthetic ingredients, preservatives and perfumes, so the search was not only exhaustive, but unsuccessful. Because of this, Shelly started reseraching ingredients and formulations in 2012 and cultivated her own skincare line in 2013. Formerly known as Revive Organic Skin Care, the company was rebranded and the name was changed in 2020 to J Renee Organics.

“My life has been filled with skin issues; I have a mast cell condition (MCAS) that makes me severely reactive to many topical ingredients and smells. J. Mrs. Todd received an honorable mention in 2019 in Bend, Oregon when, by popular vote, she won 4th best facial in all of Central Oregon. She also won Top 10 Best Spa with USA Today in the Portland, Oregon area in 2018. In 2020, Shelly’s business was voted best spa in Gresham, Oregon. She was also voted “Best Skincare Clinic” in Lake Oswego Oregon in 2021 and 2022. In 2021, she decided to relocate to the Atlanta, Georgia.

"I am an older male who has had acne since I was a teen. I have been on Accutane 3 times (which is nuts) and still my acne returned. Recently, I had a breakout and was looking for another way to combat this Sisyphean dilemma. But I was tired of going to dermatologists who just look at you and then prescribe pills. I think this is important to know because in today's society there are two common myths about skincare. First myth - men don't go to skincare professionals, only women. Second myth - medication and pills and/or the fad of (Korean) face products is the way to control or get rid of acne.…Shelly is very knowledgeable and her suggestions were very helpful. Two points she made. Less is more. I know this sounds cliche, but with all of the products out there (like the 10-step Korean skincare routine) it was reassuring that I was doing the proper process for my skin. Also, this will be a process that will take some time….Shelly is aware of the costs for skincare. She suggested skincare steps and procedures, but also mentioned if my budget was tight what would be the most helpful. Saying that, the cost for the products might seem expensive, but they last quite awhile since you don't need a lot to make a lot of difference. And, if you think about this in terms of a holistic and organic approach, the long term effects are healthier. I strongly recommend to anyone who would like to improve their skin health to see a skincare professional first (I recommend Shelly). Don't see someone who will just prescribe pills and don't go out and buy the latest skincare fad.”
